Overview
Turn fresh cacao beans into your own chocolate bar. You start by cracking dried beans and winnowing away the shells. Then you grind nibs into a thick, warm paste called cocoa liquor. Add sugar, spices, or even coconut milk. Pour into molds and watch it harden. A farmer or chocolatier explains each step. You taste raw cacao, then compare it to the finished product.
The tour takes place on a working cacao estate. You walk through groves of shade-grown trees. Smell ripe pods split open. See the drying racks and fermentation boxes. This is not a factory tour. This is hands-on, messy, and delicious. Take your own chocolate home.
